  1. Who is collecting the data?
  • The committee of the Blue Jean Country Queen Festival are dedicated to protecting and respecting the privacy of our Host Families, Queens and anyone else who may give us personal information in the course of our work.
  • The committee Secretary is the person responsible for storing and processing data and ensuring that it is done in a transparent way.
  1. What kinds of personal information about you do we process?
  • Contact details including email addresses, postal addresses and phone numbers.
  • Photographs and Video.
  • For Queens: any information filled in on the application form.
  1. What is the source of your personal information?
  • Contact details that you have provided to us on our website, by phone or email.
  • Any official photography or video taken by the festival committee or our official photographer over the press launch, the festival weekend itself or any other official Blue Jeans event.
  • For Queens: contact details provided by the County Secretary or Chair, or whoever filled in the entry form.
  • For Queens: Information provided on the application form (fun facts, hobbies etc.).
  • For Queens: photographs provided by you as part of the application process.
  1. What do we use your personal data for?
  • Photographs and video: For promotion of the festival including on social media, our website and in print.
  • Contact details: to let you know details about the festival.
  • For Queens: To create the booklet that will be used over the festival which will include facts about the Queens and the photo that they have provided.
  • For Queens: Your phone number or Facebook account may be shared with other Queens when setting up a WhatsApp group or Facebook group for the Queens.
  1. Who do we share your personal information with?
  • The Blue Jean Country Queen Festival will only use your personal information with regard to the festival. The secretary of the Blue Jean Country Queen Festival may provide your contact details to other members of the committee where needed to contact you.
  • Photographs and video may be shared with media outlets.
  • For Queens: We may share your phone numbers/ Facebook pages with other Queens and committee members for the purpose of setting up groups on WhatsApp/Facebook.
  • For Queens: contact details may be shared with media outlets as part of the festival promotion.
  1. How long is your personal information retained for?
  • Application and entry forms will be deleted before the next festival.
  • Any photographs and video are retained indefinitely to be used for promotion of the festival.
  • Contact details will be kept as long as you are still involved with the festival.
  • For Queens: names of Queens as well as the county/region/country that they are representing will be kept indefinitely so as to retain a record of former Queens.
  • For Queens: the contact details of the winning Queen will also be stored indefinitely so that we can contact winners about future festivals.

You have the right to:

  • Request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data.
  • Restrict or object to certain kinds of processing of your personal data, including direct marketing.
  • The portability of your personal data.
